Kadampa Health Care Chaplaincy

Times of ill health, loss and uncertainty can be very stressful and distressing both for the individual concerned and for their families and friends. Chaplaincy derives from the Latin word “to cloak” and aims to provide support and inner protection during difficult times.

Buddha Land provide chaplains at both Airedale General Hospital and Manor Lands Hospice. Working with the Lead Chaplains, our Chaplains take part in a multi-faith role offering assistance to people of any faith or no faith. Support offered includes: the opportunity to discuss issues of concern; practical help in keeping a peaceful mind; guided meditations and family or staff support.

Inner Protection

In times of difficulty our greatest protection is a mind of peace. Without this, our difficulties easily throw us out of balance.

Gen Kelsang Paljin, (the Resident Teacher at Buddha Land Centre) visits Manor Lands Hospice in Oxenhope on a weekly basis visiting the Day Therapy Unit and Ward while Buddhist Nun, Kelsang Dra-ma visits Airedale Hospital on a weekly basis visiting Ward 6 and Accident and Emergency. If you would like to request support please contact the lead chaplain at the Hospital/Hospice or contact the Centre directly. Our Chaplains are able to visit other locations on request. They are governed by the Code of Conduct for Health Care Chaplains For more information please see the Kadampa Health Care Chaplaincy Website http://kbhcc.org.
