No, all the meditation classes are set out with chairs. If you do wish to sit on the floor you are welcome to, but please bring a cushion.
It is common that people join the course part way through or cannot attend a whole course. For this reason the teacher will explain all the essential points for that night's meditation and practice. The meditations are guided to help you get the most out of them.
The centre runs meditation day courses through out the year and has a variety of special events such as a day courses, meditation workshops and our monthly ‘Stop The Week’ meditation and meal. These are a great way to find out a little more and to meet other people who are trying to apply meditation in their lives. At the centre we have a schedule of chanted meditations such as our Prayers For World Peace which is on a Sunday. For those who wish to study in greater detail there is the ‘Foundation Programme’ on a Sunday evening.
The teacher will always invite questions. After the second meditation, small groups are formed to discuss the topic of the class and any other points of interest. It's all very friendly!
The classes are held in purpose designed meeting rooms, most are wheelchair friendly and some have induction loop hearing systems installed. Tea and biscuits will be served during the discussion.
