School Visits Programme

Kelsang Paljin

Teachers from Buddha Land Centre are happy to visit local schools to explain Buddhist practice and meditation. Alternatively many schools like to visit the centre itself. With its beautiful meditation room with Buddha statues and offerings a visit to the centre gives a strong impression of Buddhist prayer and thought.

A teacher from Buddha Land Buddhist Centre will give a talk on Buddhism which can be tailored to the individual school's needs. Typically talks cover the life of Buddha, his teachings and modern day Buddhist way of life. Other aspects that can be explored are rituals, symbolism and the lives of Buddhist monks and nuns. If it is suitable there can be a short guided meditation and samples of traditional Buddhist prayers.

Giving as a way of life

Buddhists find the greatest meaning comes from practicing giving, moral discipline, patience, effort, concentration and wisdom. Discover what this means.

The centre has a large sitting / dining room which can be used for follow up activities.

We can cater for groups of up the 30 pupils. Visits normally last between 1 and 2 hours. For group visits to the centre itself there is a charge of £1 per pupil.

The centre is easily accessible by public transport (we are close to Cliffe Castle) and has space for coaches to park nearby.

If you are interested in either visiting the centre or having a teacher visit you please contact the centre on 01535 681170.
