Drop-in Meditation Classes
A Spiritual Way of LifeClasses start w/b 7 JuneSometimes we wonder how we can live a more spiritual life in the midst of the busyness of everyday life. In this series of classes, the practical application of the 6 perfections of giving, moral discipline, patience, effort, concentration and wisdom will be explained enabling us to integrate them into our life with meaningful results.
See our classes page. for details of locations, venues and times including our monthly classes in Settle (28 June) and Grassington (7 July).
Meditation WorkshopJewelled UniverseSaturday 12 June 10am- 2pmOur world is an appearance to our mind, a pure world appearing to a pure mind and an impure world appearing to an impure mind. In this practical Workshop, we shall learn about the practice of mandala offerings, where we offer the entire universe as a pure world.
Day CourseEverything to Learn, Everything to GainSunday 20 June 10am - 5pmIf we held the view that we could learn from every situation in our life and every person that we meet then we would have so many opportunities to progress in life. However, at the moment, we are only open to learning from a few. Gen Kelsang Paljin will give teachings on the concept of humility, a state of mind held by all realized Buddhist masters. By following the instructions we too can come to know for ourselves that there is everything to gain from this exalted state of mind.

FundraisingTake the £100 Challenge! We have so far raised £14,000, including a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, to establish a World Peace Café. However we still need to raise about £4000 to complete this project which is scheduled to open in September. Can you help? We are looking for 20 people to raise just £100 each and so far 14 have signed up. Perhaps you could help, organising a sponsored event, runing a car boot sale, selling something or just simply donating £100. If you are up for joining the challenge, please drop us an email with your idea. Dra-ma, Leo and Marta have completed sponsored challenge events, sponsor any of them online here. Disabled AccessUnfortunately the centre is not accessible for disabled people at the moment but we would like it to be! There are several steps up to the entrance, the meditation room is on the first floor and there is no disabled toilet. To assist us in improving access, we need to undertake a comprehensive disability survey which costs in the region of £700. Following on from this, we can then apply for grants to assist with the cost of the work. Could you help with donating some money towards this cost of the survey? |
